Our first beef cattle are maturing nicely! These are Pure Blood, grass-fed, hormone and antibiotic free Wagyu. With the current backlog at beef processing facilities, we are now accepting pre-orders for “hanging halves” for late January/February pickup. A hanging half is half of the cow after it has been slaughtered and cleaned of non-edible items such as internal organs, skin, and head. We expect the hanging halves to weigh on the order of 400-500 lbs. and they are priced at $6/lb.

The Steel Buffalo will cut and vacuum pack your half to your specifications. Their fees are $0.75/lb. for custom processing or $1/lb. if you’d like the cutting and packaging done with a USDA inspector present. These fees would be your responsibility. They will contact you 10-14 days after the slaughter date for you to pick up your beef.

Now is the time to get together with friends and family to agree to share or split your hanging half. A half will take up the space of a full size freezer (21 cubic feet of freezer space).

We have two halves left for sale. If you’d like to reserve a half, a $100 deposit is due now. Another $1000 deposit will be due the first week of January with the balance due once the half is prepared and weighed prior to cutting. All deposits are non-refundable.
